Job Summary
**Hybrid work schedule available, up to 50% telework depending on business needs. Primary work location will be the Golden Rule Building in St. Paul.
This position will provide coordination and technical lead work to other staff, as well as advise the supervisor and manager about highly complex and technical issues and policies in energy. The position will ensure the agency's testimony and participation in cases before the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, Midcontinent Independent System Operator, and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission are coordinated so analyses are thorough, complete, consistent, and reflect knowledge of emerging issues.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of experience performing analysis, exercising judgment, and relying on knowledge in energy policy or energy regulation.
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Pre-Law, or related field is equivalent to one (1) year of experience.
An Advanced degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, or related field is equivalent to eighteen (18) months of experience.
Applicants who meet the above education/experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:
- Experience training and coaching peers.
- Experience preparing recommendations to decision making bodies (Boards, Commissions, Councils, etc.)
- Project Management experience.
- Skills in technical writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Participation with contested case hearings and preparation of related testimony.
- Experience with the regulated gas and electric industries.
- Advanced degree, such as, Masters, Juris Doctorate, or PhD.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
