The Clean Energy Resource Teams help Minnesotans build clean energy by connecting people with the resources they need to implement projects.

A partnership among Great Plains Institute, Minnesota Department of Commerce, Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships at University of Minnesota Extension, and Southwest Regional Development Commission, our staff members are experts in renewable energy, energy efficiency practices, and emerging energy technologies.

We are unbiased, positive, and practical. We help people learn from their peers, and we like to show people with technology.

When first written or introduced use Clean Energy Resource Teams which can be shortened to CERTs after the initial use. 

When referring to a region, like Central Clean Energy Resource Team drop the “s” and abbreviate Central CERT.

The unabbreviated Clean Energy Resource Teams is a plural noun, but the abbreviated CERTs (with a lowercase s) should be treated as singular, as well as Metro CERT, West Central CERT, and other region-specific CERT.
