Chris Duffrin, Neighborhood Energy Connection: Chris Duffrin is the Executive Director of the Neighborhood Energy Connection (NEC), a 22-year old nonprofit organization that designs practical tools for energy efficiency. Prior to joining the NEC, he was the Assistant Director of the Energy CENTS Coalition, where he managed a low-income residential energy efficiency program and served as an advocate at the Public Utilities Commission.

One-Stop Community Energy Services Pilot Program


Neely Crane-Smith, Center for Energy and Environment: Neely Crane-Smith is the Community Energy Coordinator for the Center for Energy and Environment, a Minneapolis nonprofit which has been working in energy efficiency and conservation for thirty years. Neely primarily works with communities to organize energy efficiency and conservation programs utilizing the Minnesota Energy Challenge (mnenergychallenge.org), an award-winning website where over 19,500 Minnesota households are pledging to reduce their energy use. With a focus on behavior change and energy efficiency, Neely provides presentations, workshops and program development. Neely is a graduate of Macalester College and a certified Residential Energy Auditor.

Cooperative Energy Futures


Timothy DenHerder-Thomas, Student, Macalester College: Timothy DenHerder-Thomas is a senior at Macalester College. He is working to launch Cooperative Energy Futures, an energy efficiency cooperative, and the Summer of Solutions, a youth-led community climate solutions effort in 15 locations nationally. Timothy was a founder and initial Board Member of the Clean Energy Revolving Fund, which supports self-financing sustainability projects at Macalester College. Timothy serves on the Steering Committee of the Energy Action Coalition and the Executive Committee of the Sierra Student Coalition, and is a YP4 Fellow, a Udall Scholar, a Goldman Sachs Global Leader, and a recipient of the 2008 Brower Youth Award.
