Hartley Nature Center

After an extensive capital campaign the Hartley Nature Center’s brand new Interpretive Center opened summer of 2003. The Interpretive Center incorporates the use of green technologies in the construction and size selection.

Concordia College Builds the First Certified Passivhaus in North America

On November 2nd, 2006 the Northeast Regional CERT team toured what was described by one of the pioneers of the blower door test as “the tightest building in the U.S.” The Waldsee Biohaus Environmental Living Center outside of Bemidji is truly a marvel of green building design.

The Green Rooftop at the Phillips Eco-Enterprise Center

The Green institute’s Phillips Eco-Enterprise Center (PEEC) completed a 4000 square foot green rooftop in the spring of 2004.

Hunt Utilities Group Campus

The Hunt Utilities Group (HUG) research campus has been described by some as a “playground for energy geeks.” Their research campus is a center for sustainable building design and materials use, and houses non-profits Rural Renewable Energy Alliance and Happy Dancing Turtle.
